Everyone one is recall crazy so lets just slow down a little, I live in Wisconsin and a small group of well funded people (unions, but we will get back to that later) are now working to recall the Governor Scott Walker because he is what he is. A politician that actually made changes to a system that was choking our state fiances, good, bad or indifferent he made the changes with the support of the people that elected him and his party; and its working for the overall state with a balanced budget for the 1st time in a long time. So why are they so mad? The unions that represent the state workers went nuts and poured everything they have on this fire because they have a chance of losing control in the state (and the country) they lost collective bargaining in Wisconsin (by the way no federal employee has it but lets move on). Employees no longer need to be a member of the union if the unions do not own the politicians and that scares the hell out of them.
So my kid doesn’t like his brand new teacher, she has a different way of teaching and makes him work a little harder and not expect an easy grade. So we call the teacher a bad name then mount a campaign to get them fired and protest at their home day and night with signs saying bad teacher. All of this because my kid doesn’t like the way the teacher teaches, even though most everyone else in the class does. Maybe its not a bad teacher, maybe its a bad student.
Lets just slow down and see what happens, we get to change politicians every 4 years and that’s enough. Just remember what comes around goes a round.
I did not write this however its a lesson we should all learn.
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan” …All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on).
Remember, there IS a test coming up. The 2012 elections.
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you’ll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
Lets start with the simple truths our children are not all winners so don’t tell them that or award them for just being involved, growing up needs disappointment and competition both to round us out so tell them they can achieve anything they want if they work for it, tell them you love them everyday and hug them all the time (even when there teenagers) talk to them about any subject and make them aware nothing is out of bounds to discuss (If you start early enough they will come to you before they do something dumb) A strong bond with our children will make the difference, there fear of disappointing you will keep them safe.
Talk more with your kids about everything and listen more without judgement, then explain your reasoning , most of them will get it on there own
Also a slap on there ass wont destroy them for life, there has to be consequent for there actions, more later
